First computer design

The first known computer design of 2000 years ahead: Antikythera Mechanism

The first known computer design goes to almost 2000 years ago.

In 1901, the Greek sponge hunters took an object from the sea near the island of antikythera.

This object, named object 15087, is not regarded as an object to be studied much in those years. A piece of metal that has settled in a rusted, glowing rock fragment over the years. Thousands of glass, ceramics, jewelery and sculptures are rarely found in this device.

By the 1970's the device was examined by x-rays. Its structure is much more complicated than it seems from the outside. It contains many impeller mechanical systems. "A complex device for the gods of the ancient Greeks".

It becomes the focus of interest again with the tariff which is located next to the device in later dates. But it will take time to resolve the small letter written in 1.2 mm dimensions.

Scientists understand that even after 1000 years from the date this device was made, there are no such complex devices. The multi-layered interlocking system that is used to solve what happens is 2000 years, 100 years after its existence at sea, it is equivalent to June 2016.

A high-level scan is performed to decipher the explanations on the stone tablet next to the device, and a description text of 3500 characters is formed. When this user manual is read, it gives incredible information about the Greek astronomy of 2000 years ago along with the operation of the device.

The internal structure of the device was further examined in detail by computer tomography and it was accepted that this device was named as the first known mechanical computer antikythera mechanism in history.

The device, which consists of 82 small pieces, shows the movements of the celestial objects including the moon and the horoscope, the moon phases perfectly, and predicts the times of future solar eclipses.

Still the secrets about the end are not fully revealed and research continues.
